We all need to be retrained when it comes to single-use plastics, and I’m trying to do my bit by buying loose veg, and fish wrapped in paper – remember when vegetables were just weighed and tipped straight into your basket?

Trevornick Holiday Park, near Newquay, has been applying a little nous, installing Oltco walkways, which are made from recycled plastic bottles, straws and food packaging. They look good, too!

Trevornick’s staff also organise beach cleans, encouraging guests to leave the shore as they find it.
