IT’S NIGH ON 60 years since this Ford angle-box was built, and driving it along a private airstrip near Potchefstroom, it feels so alien and antiquated that it might as well be from another planet. It’s a 1960 Ford Anglia of course – a vehicle universally recognised nowadays as the car from Harry Potter – resplendent with a periodlooking dashboard covered in black vinyl that cannot help but wear the patina of six decades of enthusiastic ownership.
A soon as you put the funky ergonomics and-mobile lurks something with a little more abracadabra.
