next to Stewart Buchanan, each of us in a comfy leather armchair. We were at the Bascule Bar, hidden away underneath the Cape Grace Hotel in Cape Town. Outside, the rain was pouring and the temperature must’ve been around 10°C. Proper winter weather, finally. Inside, the fire was crackling and although it was 2 pm on a weekday afternoon, I’m unashamed to admit it felt like perfect whisky-tasting conditions. And I couldn’t have chosen better
