Swedish prog masters deliver another masterpiece

quite know what to expect from an Opeth album, such is their flawless output that exceptional quality is always guaranteed. Even, arguably with fewer memorable moments than previous outings, was still a masterful, intense journey. So it comes as no surprise when the first spin of album 13 dazzles with its hedonistic bombast and wondrous array of histrionic vocals, duelling guitar and Hammond organ, Pink Floyd-esque languorous melodies, nefarious ambience and delicate acoustic picking – and that’s all within the first song, (‘Dignity’).
