BRITISH LION

Steve Harris has just completed the South American leg of the Legacy Of The Beast tour, followed by a week of promotion in New York. The Iron Maiden bassist has been wowing fans around the world for two months with the band he founded as a teenager, but now he’s settling into a brief phase of quiet normality at home. Albeit a home in the Bahamas.

“My daughter’s at school here fulltime,” he explains to us over the phone from his Caribbean paradise. “I’ve literally just got home, so now it’s getting back to reality. I did the school run this morning, that sort of thing!”

He won’t be home for long. British Lion – the band Steve briefly mentored in the 90s before joining in 2012 to “keep the rust out” during periods of Maiden. Wasn’t Steve tempted to take a few months off before diving into another phase of activity?
