SCORPIONS

“Scorpions are one of the oldest animals on earth still living today. Their evolutionary history extends back to the Silurian era that goes back 430 million years.”

« Donald Strydom runs the Kinyonga Reptile Centre, formerly known as Swadini Reptile Park, which was founded in 1984. He has been involved in the filming of approximately 50 documentaries and has worked with Sir  David Attenborough. Through the Kinyonga Reptile Centre, Donald has established the Help Endangered Reptile Project (HerP), which focuses on conservation through education and research.

Scorpions belong to the Order or Family group of the Class . Arachnids world-wide make up 11 Orders in total that include the likes of spiders, centipedes, ticks, camel spiders and whip scorpions, to mention a few. There are approximately 160 species of scorpions

Is one of the largest game reserves in Africa. It covers an area of nearly two million hectares (20 000km2) in the province of Limpopo and Mpumalanga in the north-east of South Africa. It extends 360km from north to south and 65km from east to west.
