Waterbuck bulls are large animals, slightly more than 1.5m at the shoulder and weighing around a mass of more than 250kg.
Their long horns have numerous prominent rings and are up to roughly a meter in length. From the base they form a wide V-shape from the front and initially curve slightly backwards for the first half and then gently forwards. The overall body colour is grey, ranging from darker on the back and upper body
