AS ‘WORZEL GUMMIDGE’ RETURNS VICKI PEPPERDINE IS MADE UP TO STAR IN A CHILDREN’S TV CLASSIC

It has been named one of Britain’s top 50 children’s TV shows and was a big hit with families in the 1970s, but Worzel Gummidge passed actress and writer Vicki Pepperdine by – and she’s very glad of that.

Vicki, 58, plays Aunt Sally in the Christmas revival of the much-loved show and has deliberately avoided watching the original series, which starred Jon Pertwee as the talking scarecrow and star Una Stubbs as the fairground
