‘Horses are Her Majesty’s number one passion’

Nothing brings a smile to the Queen’s face more than a good day at the races, unless it’s her beloved family – many of whom are following her lead and showing a love of all things equestrian.
Her Majesty sprinkles her stardust at events such as Royal Ascot – the highlight of the flat season – and also at jump meetings at Newbury in Berkshire and other famous racecourses.
A WINNING YEAR
The monarch, proud patron of The Jockey Club and owner at any time of between 50 and 60 flat horses and ten jumpers, enjoyed her most successful year ever as an owner in 2019. She gained 29 successes on the flat and a further seven over jumps –
