HARBOUR HIGHLIGHTS

SYDNEY is a truly beautiful city, with its deep harbour, golden beaches and extensive network of national parks and reserves. And, as these two day walks show, you are never far from quiet-running creeks, inspiring views, native wildlife and pure wilderness.

Creeks and forest at Bidjigal Reserve

The Dharug people lived at what is now known as Bidjigal Reserve for many thousands of years. Numerous animal bones and stone artefacts have been found here, some dating back over 10,000 years. One of the first successful Native Title claims in Sydney, a Board of Trustees now manage this 300-hectare reserve, where over 127 species of birds, as well as swamp wallabies, echidnas and sugar gliders, continue to make their home.
