my travels, few places in this corner of the veld we call South Africa had gone unchecked – except one, Kosi Bay. Sometimes the best is indeed left for last. Kosi is a long way from anywhere. Before the twisting, sandy, bumpy, rutted access roads were upgraded, one conservationist working in the area believed the only way to negotiate them was drunk: the local palm wine and mangosteen, are legendary.
