22 Sts by 28 rows to 10cm over stocking st using 4mm needles.

WORKING PATTERN

TOP Back and Front alike

Using 3.25mm needles and thumb method cast on 99 (113, 127, 141, 141, 155) sts. Row 1 and 2: Knit.

Change to 4mm needles and proceed as follows:

Row 1: * yfwd, k5, sl, k2tog, psso, k5, yfwd, k1, rep from * to end.

Row 2 and every alt row: Purl.

Row 3: k1, * k1, yfwd, k4, s1, k2tog, psso, k4, yfwd, k2, rep from * to end.

Row 5: k1, * k2, yfwd, k3, sl, k2tog, psso, k3, yfwd, k3, rep from * to end.

Row 7: k1, * k3, yfwd, k2, sl, k2tog, psso, k2, yfwd, k4, rep from * to end.

Row 9: k1, * k4, yfwd, k1, sl, k2tog, psso, k1, yfwd, k5, rep from * to end.

Row 11: k1, * k5, yfwd, sl, k2tog, psso, yfwd, k6, rep from * to end.

Row 12: Purl.

Row 13: Knit.
