THERE’S no doubt that bream are a time honoured favourite target species of recreational anglers right around the country. It doesn’t matter if you’re chasing yellowfin bream around the oyster leases in Forster in NSW, black bream in the deepwater at Mallacoota in Victoria or pikey bream up a Top End creek they all provide tremendous sport on light tackle gear. The ubiquitous bream can be caught right around our continent, which has no doubt helped the catch & release tournament scene really take off for this ever-popular sportfish.
