IT was mid-July, cold and the snapper had been biting well on the Gold Coast reefs over the preceding weeks. We headed out with the intention of catching a tasty feed of these delicious fish, and the conditions were almost perfect. When I arrived out on the 36 fathom reefs there were a few scattered boats but it was a Friday and we avoided the week end crowds.
