Important tomato diseases to watch out for

Before planting tomatoes, it is important to establish which diseases are common in your area, so that you can control them in good time. Wherever possible, choose tomato cultivars that show resistance to, or tolerance of, specific diseases.

In addition, choose the planting area with care, prepare the soil well, buy disease-free seed or seedlings, and rotate the crop. All of these actions will help ensure strong, active growth and lessen the chances of disease infection.
