BRINGING SEXY BACK

“I WISH I INVENTED BLUE JEANS,” Yves Saint Laurent told New York Magazine back in 1983. “They have expression, modesty, sex appeal, simplicity – it’s all I hope for in my clothes.” By this measure, Mr Saint Laurent would likely be very pleased with the work of Anthony Vaccarello, the fifth creative director to helm the brand. In the three years since he took the reins from Hedi Slimane, Vaccarello has continued to build on the elevated rock’n’roll sensibility laid down by his predecessors, all the while enthralling the fashion world by delivering large-scale runway shows and highly-covetable collections.
