A SPRING Garden Song

IT’S QUITE noisy standing in Greg’s garden. There is the sound of a contented chicken proudly declaring her egg for the day. The airspace is thick with the buzzing hum of 1000s of busy bees, flying in and out of multiple hives that sit in the shade of the chook run. A watchful magpie warbles nearby – singing its melodic song over the distant whisper of traffic. The rest of the chooks continue on with their dust bath, having heard the song of pride many times before. With the day still young, their turn for song is still to come. These are the sounds of a spring garden awakening.
