Booming metallic sounds echoed through the woods as I lowered my bow to the ground. I sighed deeply, slumped into the webbed seat of my climbing stand and pressed my head against the oak’s coarse bark.
“Wow!” I whispered. “No one is going to believe this.”
The racket continued as I strapped my feet to the platform and inched my way back to earth. I don’t know how to describe the sound a rock crusher makes, but it’s not unlike a jackhammer. Unfortunately for me, the crusher was going full-bore in a small gravel pit only 200 yards from my stand.
