Like every species, whitetail deer are sometimes born with deformities. Some people think abnormal deer are more beautiful, as in cases of albinos and piebalds. Other times, the abnormality is not very pretty.
A few years back I shot a buck with a significant defect. He was on a fast walk to a thick patch of blackberry brush. My first glance told me his antlers easily qualified him as a shooter under Pennsylvania’s antler restriction law. I had no time at all to make any further assessment. My crosshairs
