IT’S NEVER TOO LATE

What an unbelievably cool sit! The temps were below zero, with a couple feet of snow covering the ground, as I set the blind in the standing cornfield.

Fast forward several hours, a shower and a few practice shots later and I was now back in the blind, wearing an all-black Heater Body Suit. With deer literally beginning to file out to feed in front of me within minutes of getting settled, not only was I toasty warm, but I knew I was for a heck of a deer show.

Jump forward another hour and I have a 2.5 year old buck at under 2 steps, devouring a cob of corn, as he stared right through my shadowy figure, lurking less than 6’ away. It was then that I caught the first glimpse of the fully mature, Minnesota 8 point, making a bee line for the corn.

Shifting into position, as the younger buck dropped his head to feed, I him ranged at exactly 54, as he dropped his head to feed, posing perfectly broadside. Again, timing bringing my Mathews to full draw and settling the pin, I sent the FMJ in flight, aiming for
