It was in 1868 when, for the first time, in Conegliano, a distinguished scientist and enlightened entrepreneur created the Vino Spumante (Sparkling Wine) that would become the world’s most popular wine of its type.

Always in advance of his time, the Founder, Antonio Carpenè understood the wine-making potential of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene area and developed a specific method of giving the wine sparkle to make the most of the grapes of the Treviso region.
