MOBILING

Summertime is “hit the road” time for a lot of folks and the RV crowd may top the list in terms of those who enjoy our nation’s network of highways and great destinations. But rolling down the road does not mean that you have to leave ham radio behind.

Comedian Jeff Foxworthy made a splash in his field with his series of routines based on the introductory line, “You might be a redneck if…”. One of his favorites was, “If one of your relatives bought a new home and you helped him take the wheels off it, you might be a redneck.”

Well, homes on wheels are not a new thing, and humor aside, trailers of all kinds suit a number of purposes. Conestoga wagons blazed trails across the west and shortly after the automobile was invented, house trailers were quick to follow.
