The last activity from Pratas happened in October 2003 (Photo A). I was on that DXpedition, so I thought that I would tell you what I remember about Pratas. Bear in mind that it was 16 years ago, but I will do my best. The 2003 DXpedition was organized by Paul Pai, BV4FH, and the Chinese Taipei Amateur Radio League. Paul was instrumental in organizing multiple BQ9P (and BV9P) DXpeditions to Pratas through 2003. Paul became SK in September 2014. It is worth noting that Paul was partially paralyzed, but he did not let that slow him down.

In 2002, I retired from Verizon where I had been a Central Office Network Technician for 33 years. I wanted to travel to visit my old friends, Alfons, 9M6MU, and Doris, 9W6DU, in Sabah, but I was looking for an excuse to be motivated to actually make the plans.
