GETTING THERE

FROM MILAN TO TREMEZZO, ON LAKE COMO

  From Milan Centrale station, trains to Como S. Giovanni station leave every hour. From Milan Ferrovie Nord Cadorna station, trains to Como Nord Lago station leave every 30 minutes. Both stations are close to the city centre, and the trip fast boat service from Como to Tremezzo, which takes about 30 minutes. There’s also a train connection from Milan airport to Como (with a change at Saronno station) operated by Malpensa Express. You can then hire a car to get to Tremezzo — about a 30-minute drive, or take the hydrofoil. Motorway A9 from Milan to Como. Take the Como Lago exit (the last exit before the Swiss border). Then take the Strada Statale Regina (SS 340) and follow the signs to Menaggio (SS 340) for 25 kilometres. The trip from Milan to the town of Tremezzo takes about an hour and a half.
