Pushing open the door on a remote farm on the Black Isle in Scotland, I wondered what I was doing there.
It was my first ever tarot card reading. A friend had suggested it as I’d broken up with my girlfriend, messily, and was about to move from Inverness in Scotland down to the Forest of Dean, where my family lived.
‘Maybe it’ll give you some direction,’ he’d said.
I wasn’t convinced. I’d always been too busy with everyday life to look into anything spiritual or mystical. But my friend was right – I did lack direction in my life. Perhaps the tarot reader would be able to offer some useful insight.
