The Rise & Rise Of The Commuter Cyclist

BIKE COMMUTING IS ON THE rise, thanks to better-planned ‘end of trip’ facilities.

Businesses large and small are responding to a call for better facilities for employees, including what is known as ‘end of trip’ facilities, for bike commuters. New developments are incorporating these types of facilities, like the corporate precinct within Barangaroo on the western edge of Sydney’s CBD, reportedly the largest of its type in the southern hemisphere.

According to a 2015 research report by property specialists Colliers, bike facilities in Australia are a high priority in CBD office buildings. “Having a place for employees to store their bicycles and associated end of trip facilities is particularly important and has been considered more important than car parking for some time now.”
