Cathy and Roberto Nieddu are the creative, enthusiastic and well-travelled force behind this restored 19th-century property spread over one hectare. They have fed their combined talents of interior design, furniture making and colour consultancy with a good dose of passion for traditional Indian architecture to create what is not only their own residence but an oasis where guests can experience the blending of traditional and contemporary in the best of ways.
On entering via the monolithic sixmetre wooden doors encased in fine local stonework, the grand introduction is softened by a sprawling lawn bookended by guest rooms and what was once a hunting lodge turned lounge area.
The grounds are lush with neem trees that provide natural pesticide for the gardens and shroud the area in greenery.
