GRASS IS ONE of the most prolific of bass habitats. It may be monolithic masses the size of football fields or smaller clumps as big as your boat; you could find it symmetrically spread across a flat or gradually tracing a channel or ditch drop. In any case, while grass presents itself as a passive target, don’t let it lull you into low gear. In truth, some of your best grass-based opportunities require aggressive tactics.
Sure, your standard flipping and frogging deal remains a viable option, but spurring the trolling motor and increasing your cast count can deliver big results. Time management? Yeah, that’s part of the picture; but so is the principle of high-value targets.
