Battering The Bluffs With Chad Pipkens

Transitions dominate spring fishing and spring weather, but Chad Pipkens has a surefire way to catch ‘em, come hell or high water

Chad Pipkens makes no bones about it: Put this pattern on a highland reservoir in the springtime, and it’s going to pay off. The Michigan native is so adamant about it that he scoffed at the need for a backup pattern. And who are we to argue? Pipkens is closing in on his 100th B.A.S.S. tournament, and he’s boated about half a million dollars in competition to boot.

His strategy starts with a diminutive jerkbait and some oversized hooks.
