Early Spring's Big 3

IN SOME YEARS, spring comes early to Lake Fork. Bass start staging in early December, even though the water temperature on the east Texas impoundment will still be in the low 50s and may stay that way for the next several months. On especially bad days, the air temperature will be frigid and snow might be falling.

That’s the way Bassmaster Elite Series pro Lee Livesay likes it, because he often has the lake to himself that time of year. He’s been guiding on Fork for seven years, and on these “bad” days, he rarely fails to connect with at least one 7-pounder.
