The parade of bright, short-period comets that graced our skies during the closing months of 2018 has now all but ended, with the comets having grown faint or, in the case of 46P/Wirtanen, travelled too far north to be of interest to Southern Hemisphere observers.
For January, the only one of the short-period comets of last. Even this object will be well north of the celestial equator and, as such, reserved for observers with good skies and a clear northern horizon.
