Winter is now here with a vengeance, often bringing cold, wet and windy weather for many of us. But that is compensated for by the longer hours of darkness that give us more time for observing and photographing the amazing celestial sights of our southern winter, such as the Milky Way spanning the sky and the Galactic Centre virtually overhead. We really are spoiled for stargazing
