I’m fortunate enough to live at Linden Observatory in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney. The Western Sydney Amateur Astronomical Group uses the location as its observing, located 6.5 degrees east of Fomalhaut, and it’s a tough find via star hopping. I suggest starting with an eyepiece that gives at least a one-degree FOV. With 20 cm or more of aperture you’ll see the star field depicted in the chart above.
