This image was created by Susan Shanta, using a simple object, light and water. She said that she placed a few dandelion seeds on a rippled glass table, then focused on one dandelion seed, allowing the others to be its frame. She said: “The sunlight and water work well together to create refraction and reflection. Add in a little bokeh for a whimsical bonus.”

This is a fantastical and pretty image with a nice range of light and dark patterns, and the rainbow colours are lovely. Since the main interest is centre, the seed on the left edge of the frame is surplus and its absence would be no great loss. Framing without it when shooting or, at this stage, cropping plus cloning out the left-over
