I live in a flat-as-a-pancake area of the Prairies. It’s tricky to find hills close by for any sort of hill work. To find decent hills we usually have to drive at least two hours to find anything worth stopping for. One of the more challenging spots for us is Souris Bend, a wildlife management area in the southwest corner of Manitoba. It’s a bit of a jaunt to get there, but man is it worth it!
Souris Bend has such a scenic view, with impressive drop-offs to the Souris River. While the Tevis Cup trail has lots of changes in elevation, some of the trails at Souris Bend are a tad more intimidating. There are no switchbacks going down the hill and often people get off to walk their horse
