Every year for Christmas my mom would get ornaments for me and my siblings. Usually they commemorated some event from the past year—a graduation, a job promotion, a marriage. When I opened my box on Christmas 2012, my face fell. I didn’t even notice what my siblings got. All I could see was my baby ornament.
