I READ with interest in A Gardener’s Miscellany (AG, 18 January) about a David Austin rose no longer being propagated due to blackspot. I bought ‘Glamis Castle’ in a sale a while back. It was a spindly little thing but responded to TLC; it was bought, as it is white, to go next to a red Floribunda called ‘Highland Laddie’. Yes, a Scottish theme, but red and white happen to be Sheffied United’s colours – who needs a horticultural reason?
