The Chinese hound’s tongue
IN Cynoglossum amabile, the Chinese hound’s tongue, we have a useful border plant, which, however, suffers from the fact that it is a biennial – a class of plants that is not too popular, but which contains many genera and species of importance to the garden.
This plant is easily raised from seed, which may be sown in the open in shallow drills of fine soil, and covered for about 1/4in [1/2cm] with sandy soil, gently pressed down and watered, and the place kept slightly shaded until the plants appear. It may also be sown in pots or boxes under
