Summer celebrations

The romantic ideal of English summertime is heightened by the allure of a large-scale celebration. A wedding, anniversary or special birthday that takes place on a perfect summer’s day, extending long into the evening, can cast a powerful spell and create a long-lasting memory.

“Milestone events, and weddings in particular, are often a celebration of heritage and traditions, both old and new,” says Graham Cresswell, director of LPM Bohemia, a tent and outdoor structure company. “Though there are often high expectations for hosts, the most important thing is to have fun and surround yourself with the things you love.”

Planning an event to honour a loved one can be hugely enjoyable. Whilst the size of the guest list will influence the scale of the setting and inform all logistical decisions, having a central theme will focus the mind on everything from decorative details to flowers
