Editor’s Letter

Following the bleakness of winter, spring is the most anticipated and welcome of all the seasons. As well as brighter days providing a much-needed boost, the unfurling of flora and awakening come from FSC-certified forests, where at least one tree is planted for every tree felled and, for a while now, we’ve been investigating more environmentally friendly solutions for the magazine’s packaging too. So I’m delighted to announce that from this month, subscribers will be receiving their issue in an innovative new paper-wrap bag that is 100 per cent recyclable. And, for a limited time, when you subscribe to for just £20 for six issues, you will receive a set of five Orla Kiely cake tins, worth £45, completely free (page 58). At the moment, the bags on our newsstand copies are made from a fully recyclable form of plastic, but we are looking to move to a plastic-free solution as soon as possible, so watch this space. I do hope you enjoy the issue and I’d love to know your thoughts.
