Is your tech SPYING on you?

I was on a train and two passengers were discussing going to a bar – its name was distinctive and stuck in my mind. Later, glancing at my phone, I found that Maps was showing me directions to the same place. While I’d been listening to their conversation, so had Google. I have an Android phone with Google Assistant built in, so I assume it was accidentally activated (this happens when the home button is pressed, rather than with a specific command, although it can be disabled via the settings menu). So it had picked up the conversation and anticipated I’d need directions. I love technology – it makes my
