‘It’s a dream come true,’ whispered Charlie as they were led into the chalet. It was magnificent, panelled in pale wood and decorated in soft grey and dark red. Piles of logs were stacked to the ceiling either side of a Santa-sized fireplace, and a Christmas tree twinkled with pinprick lights. The windows looked out onto the wooded mountains, thick with snow.
The other women in the party were terrifyingly glamorous
