The Long March 5, or Changzheng 5, is supposed to become the crown jewel of Chinese rocketry. The China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology (CALT) has been working tirelessly over the last two years to perfect one of the world’s most powerful rockets, which is comparable to the United States’ Delta IV Heavy. The Delta IV Heavy rocket, which most notably launched NASA’s Parker Solar Probe in August 2018, provides a total thrust of 9,700 kiloNewtons (kN) that can take roughly 28,970 kilograms (63,471 pounds)
