TONY SKELTON: STILL GOING FLAT OUT AT 84 YEARS OLD

If Tony Skelton had called time on his motor racing career after crashing heavily at Brands Hatch last year, no one would have blamed him.

At 84 years of age, he could have quite easily stepped away from the cockpit for good, ending his decades-long association with motorsport.

But despite hitting the barriers at the exit of Paddock Hill Bend in a 78mph impact, which wrote off his highly-tuned Renault Clio, the sprightly pensioner is showing no signs of slowing down.

In fact, he has already snapped up another French hatchback to replace the crash-damaged car and is busy preparing for his latest campaign.
