“Here I’ve used a solid kick and layered it up with another one that is a bit more saturated,” Jansons reveals. “I use Fabfilter Saturn, a multiband distortion plugin, and I’ve boosted the second kick [with this] in the mids to give it a little more bite. Put them together and it just has a bit more of a ‘knock’ on the top of it. On the kick, I love the EQ FG-A from Slate Digital.
