1973-’81 Mercedes-Benz 350 SLC/450 SLC/380 SLC

The third-generation SL could arguably be one of the most important cars in the postwar history of Mercedes-Benz. After all, this 107-series chassis would be in production in two-seater, open-top guise a record 18 years, and would underpin a flagship S-class two-door that saw the Stuttgart automaker into the 1980s. The SLC was not without its critics, but it suited the personal luxury ethos of the 1970s, and would prove unique in a long, respected tradition.
