DAVINA, NEVER TO BE FORGOTTEN

MORE than 300 people assembled at the East of England showground on 8 January to celebrate the life of showing judge, trainer, producer and Ponies (UK) founder Davina Whiteman, who left a wide-ranging legacy to the horse world as a whole.

It was a fitting tribute in itself that so many had travelled great distances in order to be there to swap “Davina stories”, and although there was plenty of humour — which Davina would have loved — there was also genuine sadness that the occasion marked
