THE VORTEX OF THE UNKNOWN

THIS IS THE guy who, along with his bandmates in the Police, fused the disparate styles of punk rock and reggae into a winning pop-music hybrid. So it’s not exactly a shocker that Andy Summers’ passions for photography and guitar would likewise blend harmoniously into a presentation of sound and light.

In 2017, to promote his album , he devised a multimedia experience in which images of his stunning black-and-white photographs (many curated from his photo book ) were projected while. It can be a challenging journey for an audience, as Summers plays only one or two recognizable songs. For the rest of the time, he takes everyone — including himself — on an unpredictable thrill ride of improvisation.
