Use hard light

Hard light is often found in the summer, where cloud or haze is minimal and the sun is high in the sky. Shooting abroad, this light is more common, and although not ideal during midday, the later afternoon hours create predictable and softer hard light. Hard light becomes more flattering the lower in the sky, so shooting in the morning or afternoon is recommended. Where possible, I generally avoid overhead,
