The world of custom knives is a binary ecosystem composed of makers and collectors. One could not exist without the other.
Strangely, though, there always has been an invisible wall between the two groups. Collectors often feel a particular maker is unapproachable or out of reach. Meanwhile, makers often are on guard with collectors because they know many of them will say or do anything for the chance to get on their books, or to buy a knife at table price.
